Granulated blast-furnace slag (Short for slag) is the industrial waste slag discharged from blast-furnace smelting pig iron. Because of its high physicochemical activity and potential hydraulic hardness, it is widely used as a mixed material in China's cement industry. Slag powder grinding system can not only turn waste into wealth, increase the added value of slag, and create considerable economic benefits for iron and steel enterprises, but also save a lot of non-renewable resources, which is consistent with the policy of structural adjustment of steel and cement industry.

The motor drives the grinding disc to rotate through the reducer and the material falls to the center of the grinding disc from the discharging outlet. Under the action of centrifugal force, the material moves to the edge of the grinding disc and is crushed by the grinding roller. The crushed material spills out of the edge of the grinding disc. At the same time, the high speed and upward hot gas flow from the nozzle ring (wind ring) is carried to the high-efficiency separator which integrates vertical grinding, the coarse powder is sorted and returned to the grinding disc for re-grinding, the fine powder is ground with the air flow and collected in the dust collecting device of the system, which is the product. Coarse granular materials not taken up by the hot gas flow and accidental entry of metal parts drop from the wind ring, after scraping out by the scraper, through the external circulation of the bucket elevator feeding into the mill grinding again.

 

Advantages:

  

(1) The cost of production and investment has been greatly reduced.

The vertical mill system has simple technological process, compact layout, and small building area. It covers an area of about 70% of the ball mill system, and the building space is about 60% of the ball mill system and can be arranged in the open air, which directly reduces the investment cost of enterprises. The vertical mill itself has a separator, do not need to add powder separator and lifting equipment.Dust-bearing gas can be collected directly by bag-type dust collector or electric dust collector.

 

(2) High production efficiency, energy conservation and environmental protection.

Vertical mill adopts the principle of material layer grinding to grind materials, with low energy consumption. The power consumption of the grinding system is 20%~30% lower than that of the ball mill. Moreover, with the increase of raw material moisture, the power saving effect is more obvious. The energy consumption of the vertical mill system is 30%~40% less than that of the ball mill system. In the work of the vertical mill, there is no metal impact sound of steel balls colliding with each other and lining plate, so the noise is low, which is 20~25dB lower than that of the ball mill. In addition, vertical mill adopts a completely closed system, the system works under negative pressure, no dust, clean environment.

 

(3) Strong drying ability of materials.

Vertical mill adopts hot air to transport materials, and the inlet air temperature can be controlled when grinding materials with larger moisture, so that the product can reach the required final moisture. In the vertical mill can drying-grinding water up to 15%~20% of the material.

 

(4) Easy to operate and maintain.

Equipped with automatic control system, can realize remote control, easy to operate; through maintenance of oil cylinder and turning and rotating arm, roller sleeve and lining plate can be replaced quickly and conveniently, thus reducing the loss of enterprises' shutdown.

 

(5) Product quality is stable and easy to test.

The chemical composition of the product is stable and the particle grade is even, which is conducive to calcining. The retention time of the material in the vertical mill is only 2~3min, while in the ball mill will takes 15~20min. So the chemical composition and fineness of vertical mill products can be quickly determined and corrected.
