Slag vertical mill is a kind of negative-pressure wind-swept grinding equipment, which dries and grinding the slag.

The grinded slag on the grinding disc consists of two parts: a small part of the new slag with high water content and a large part of the grinded slag with low water content. This part of unfinished slag is the coarse material returned after separation by powder separator due to the large particle size. The strong negative pressure wind caused two parts of the slag to fall onto the mill disc.

Under the action of centrifugal force, the slag is guided under the auxiliary grinding roller, which compacts the slag by reducing the blowing wind. The auxiliary grinding roller is kept a certain distance from the grinding disc and is fixed on the lightweight rocker arm.

The main grinding roller is fixed on the heavy main rocker arm and through adding pressure to grind the configured material layer. The force is generated by the dead weight of the grinding roller itself and the pressure of the hydraulic system.

The grinding roller rotates by rubbing against the grinding bed. A sensor mounted on the rocker arm and the buffer limit device can prevent direct metal contact between the grinding roller and the grinding disc.

The grinded slag particles are thrown out by centrifugal force and flow through the blocking ring. Here, captured by the rising air through the wind ring, the dust and gas mix through the grinding chamber, which is then surrounded by a vertical mill cylinder with a wear-resistant lining plate, went into the separator. The separator is installed or welded on the vertical mill barrel.

Without the help of auxiliary drive, the vertical mill can be started by the main motor directly under the loading condition (after a short stop). In order to unload the main motor, the grinding roller can be lifted by hydraulic pressure, and the pressure oil of the hydraulic system can be lead into the rodless chamber of the hydraulic cylinder.
